I am what you call, “makeup challenged.” No matter how many magazines how to’s I study intently, I can never seem to get my face to look like those on the glossy pages. It always seems like a defeat to me when my so-called "smoky eyes”, looks like I pulled a Jim Carrey in “Liar, Liar”, and well, beat myself up. I always appear to overdo my blush, under-do my concealer, and face primer still confuses the heck out of me. With all of this in mind, I ventured into Sephora a couple of days ago with every intent to find some products that did not come with a manual on how to apply them. I picked up a couple of goodies, and boy am I glad I did.
My first purchase was Cargo’s BeachBlush, in Cable Beach ($24.50). This is a bronzer and a blush all one, and the color is absolutely gorgeous. All you need is one swipe on your cheeks, and you have a subtle healthy glow.
The second product I bought was Clinque’s almost-Makeup SPF 15 foundation ($20.50). It was really important for me to find a foundation that one had SPF in it, two was not greasy, and three was portable. Check, check, and check! It feels very sheer and lightweight which I love, and knowing that my face is also getting a little protection is definitely a plus.
The last thing I bought was Sephora’s Multi-Action Nail Polish , in Pure Plum ($6). I am without intention starting my own nail polish collection. Nicely painted fingernails, is undeniably a weakness of mine, (it is also a skill I have yet to master). This nail polish is one of my favorites! The color is rich enough for one coat, although I gave mine a second one. I’ve had it on for about three days now, and my color is still going strong, along with my nails, which is one of the product's promises.
What are some of your recent beauty purchases?
